About Me
My name is Jeff Goodwin, also known as Dr. Jeff. I hold a PhD degree in kinesiology, specializing in the field of motor learning. Motor learning is a branch of study that focuses on understanding the cognitive and motor aspects of individuals involved in learning and performing motor skills, as well as the factors that can influence the learning process. My doctoral research and expertise revolved around exploring the underlying processes of skilled performance, the methods of acquiring and refining these skills, and the application of these principles in instructional settings. In addition, I completed over 30 graduate hours of coursework in statistics and research methodology. This background provided me with a solid foundation in analyzing and interpreting data, which was invaluable in my teaching responsibilities and research endeavors. I have presented/published over 70 research papers.
In addition to my academic background, I am also deeply connected to the world of golf as a parent. I have closely witnessed my child’s journey in the sport, from U.S. Kids golf to junior golf, and now to the professional level. I have been there for every high and low, including numerous challenging rounds, missed cuts, the disappointment of losing in the championship match of the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2016, the thrill of winning the championship match of the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2017, earning the prestigious title of two-time Rolex Junior Player of the Year awarded by the American Junior Golf Association, achieving four-time All-American status at Southern Methodist University, and even serving as his caddie during his first professional career win at the Ontario Open on the PGA Tour Canada. Through these experiences, I have gained valuable insights and a deep understanding of the golfing world.
Drawing upon my expertise and personal journey, I have recently founded Win Good Sports, where I serve as the President. Win Good Sports is a specialized sports consulting agency dedicated to helping athletes unlock their full potential. Our primary focus is on assisting golfers and their parents in their pursuit of playing competitive golf at the collegiate level. With our comprehensive range of services, we provide tailored support to help you achieve your goals and aspirations. At Win Good Sports, I am committed to sharing my expertise and helping individuals maximize their potential.
